College

Studies show that you make most of your major life decisions during your college years. It is one of the most moldable times of your life. You are out from underneath your parents' roof, independent and making decisions that will affect the rest of your life. You are also not yet likely tied down by the responsibilities of a career, marriage, children, etc. With this freedom, most students find themselves with strong ideals, zealous optimism and looking for cause to give their lives to.

 

As a church we believe that the greatest cause on earth is Jesus. There is no loftier goal than to spend yourself on seeing the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20) fulfilled through the church. And the amazing reality is that whenever students have taken hold of this, they have been the catalyst for many of the world's revivals and most of the world's missions' movements. History proves it...when students wholeheartedly commit themselves to Jesus, they impact the world!

 

To invest in college students, The River offers student-led faithgroups that meet weekly in apartments on and around campuses in and around Waltham. We also have a city-wide college celebration with our sister church Community of Faith Christian Fellowship called The Lighthouse. The Lighthouse meetings on Friday evenings in Boston at 7 pm.

 

I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge -- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within is, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
